Description

LUTScope is a macOS app that streamlines color grading for video production. No more applying and removing LUTs one by one inside your editing software. Just drop in your footage, preview hundreds of your own .cube LUTs at once in a grid, line up the candidates to compare, and export the combination you choose — all in a single dedicated workstation.

A two-stage pipeline keeps camera Log normalization (Input LUT) separate from the creative look (Look LUT), so you can systematically compare which conversion to pair with which look.

Key Features

  • Two-stage LUT pipeline — Apply an Input LUT (camera Log conversion) followed by a Look LUT (creative look), keeping normalization and grading separate
  • 20-slot comparison — Register LUT combinations across 20 slots (A–T) and compare them side by side in the Compare window
  • Three types of favorites — Save combinations, Input LUTs, and Look LUTs as favorites for instant access to your go-to settings
  • 1D / 3D LUT support — Load 1D and 3D LUTs in .cube format
  • Metal GPU rendering — Fast previews powered by the Apple Metal API, so even large LUT sets switch smoothly
  • Anamorphic desqueeze — Adjust from 1.0x to 2.0x in seven steps to view anamorphic footage at the correct ratio
  • LUT Pack export — Export your chosen LUTs as .cube files together with preview images for team sharing or reuse on the next project
  • Seven languages — Available in seven languages, including English and Japanese

System Requirements

  • macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
  • Universal binary for both Apple Silicon and Intel
  • Supported format: .cube (1D / 3D LUTs)

How It Works

  1. Drop a frame (still image) from the footage you want to grade into LUTScope.
  2. Load your own .cube LUTs and preview them all in a grid.
  3. Normalize the Log with an Input LUT, then layer a Look LUT on top to explore the look you want.
  4. Register promising combinations across the 20 slots and compare them in the Compare window.
  5. Export the chosen LUTs as a LUT Pack and hand them off to your editing software or team.

Recommended For

  • Colorists and video editors who own many .cube LUTs and need to pick the right look quickly per project
  • Anyone spending too much time applying LUTs inside their editing software
  • Those who want to evaluate camera Log normalization and creative grading separately
  • Users working with anamorphic lens footage

Why LUTScope

Comparing LUTs inside an editing application means applying and removing each one in turn, making it hard to view multiple candidates at the same time. LUTScope is built specifically for LUT comparison: display hundreds of candidates in a grid and compare them side by side across 20 slots, dramatically cutting the time it takes to choose a look.
