Description
LinkSentinel is an extension for Apple Mail. It checks the links and the sender of every incoming message and shows the verdict, with the reasons, in a banner at the top of the message.
What it detects
- Link text that says one domain while the link goes to another (link spoofing)
- Display names that claim a brand the sender's domain does not belong to
- Sender authentication (SPF / DKIM / DMARC) evaluated against the From domain
- Reply-To redirection, frequently abused top-level domains and blacklist matches
A cautious policy
LinkSentinel prefers not to call a doubtful message safe. Even when authentication passes and the links match the sender, mail from a first-time sender is marked "Needs Review". Green is not a guarantee of safety — check the sender's domain first.
Privacy
All analysis happens on your Mac. Message content is never sent anywhere.
Pricing
14-day free trial, then a monthly or yearly subscription on the Mac App Store. Family Sharing supported. Requires Apple Mail on macOS 15 or later.
